Elevate your intimate dining moments with the Grand Boulevard Cafe Table, a captivating creation from Workshop Detroit that marries the timeless allure of reclaimed urban lumber with the sleek sophistication of modern craftsmanship. Handcrafted in the vibrant heart of Detroit, Michigan, this petite table is more than a place to dine—it’s a beacon of artistry, resilience, and connection, designed to transform your small kitchen or breakfast nook into a sanctuary of warmth and refined charm.
The tabletop, a sturdy 2.75-inch thick slab, is meticulously crafted from solid wood reclaimed from Detroit’s storied homes and buildings—structural pine 2x4s that embody the city’s enduring spirit. Each plank is a testament to time, its intricate grain, weathered patina, and subtle nail marks weaving a story of character and renewal. Sealed with a low-luster polyurethane finish, the wood glows with a warm, inviting radiance, beckoning you to linger over coffee or share a cozy meal. The Workshop Legacy Stamp, delicately etched, reveals the street address of the reclaimed lumber’s origin.
The table’s base, a hand-welded steel frame with slender steel legs, exudes industrial elegance with a minimalist edge. The clean lines and rough-ground welds lend an artisanal authenticity, while adjustable feet ensure steadfast stability. This seamless blend of reclaimed wood and robust steel crafts a modern rustic aesthetic—compact yet commanding, rugged yet refined—perfectly suited for cozy kitchens, breakfast nooks, or urban apartments where space is a premium but style is non-negotiable.
Envision the Grand Boulevard Cafe Table as the heart of an intimate gathering: its thoughtfully scaled design invites closeness, turning morning pastries or evening wine into cherished moments of connection. The interplay of warm wood and cool steel creates a captivating focal point, infusing your space with an effortless charm that elevates every bite and conversation. Whether tucked into a sunlit nook or anchoring a small dining area, this table transforms your surroundings, blending practicality with a sculptural beauty that inspires joy and togetherness.
This 100% sustainably sourced cafe table is a meaningful addition to your home, embodying a commitment to environmental care and thoughtful craftsmanship. By repurposing urban lumber, Workshop Detroit breathes new life into materials that might otherwise be discarded, reducing waste and preserving natural resources. Workshop Detroit FAQ
Where are our cafe tables made?
All Workshop Detroit cafe tables are handcrafted at our fabrication shop in Detroit, Michigan by our small team of skilled craftsmen. Every table is built to order with close attention to detail, durability, and finish.
What materials do you use for your cafe tables?
We specialize in reclaimed, salvaged and sustainably sourced solid wood, including reclaimed pine, reclaimed oak, and select hardwoods depending on the design. Each tabletop is paired with heavy-duty steel or solid wood bases designed for long-term stability.
Will my table look exactly like the photos?
No two tables are exactly alike. Because we use real wood—often reclaimed—natural variations in grain, knots, and color are expected and celebrated. Your table will be similar in style and finish, but uniquely yours.
Can I customize the size or finish?
Yes. Most of our cafe tables can be customized by size, wood species, finish color, and base style. If you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for, contact us and we’ll help design a table that fits your space perfectly.
How long does it take to receive my table?
Because our tables are made to order, typical lead times range from 8–10 weeks depending on the design and current production schedule. We’ll provide an estimated timeline when your order is placed and keep you updated along the way.
Do you offer white glove delivery or in-home setup?
Yes. We offer in-home delivery and set up is available for many locations and includes delivery, placement, and packaging removal.
Are your cafe tables durable enough for everyday use?
Absolutely. Our tables are built for daily life—family meals, dinner parties, work-from-home use, and everything in between. We use commercial-grade finishes that protect against spills, heat, and normal wear. Our tables are built to last for generations.
How do I care for and clean my cafe table?
Routine care is simple. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners. No Bleach. Mild soap only. Coasters and placemats are recommended for added protection, as with any natural wood surface.
What if my table arrives damaged?
We stand behind our work. If your table arrives with shipping damage, contact us immediately and we’ll make it right—whether that means repair, replacement, or another solution.
