Grand Boulevard Industrial Cafe Table - READY TO SHIP

This table is in stock and ready to ship.

The lumber used for this table was carefully reclaimed from the former Detroit Fire Department Headquarters Building located at 250 W. Larned Street in Detroit. The building was designed by architect Hans Gehrke and constructed in 1929. The lumber was reclaimed during its recent renovation into the Foundation Hotel and Apparatus Room restaurant.

The Grand Boulevard style of furniture gives credence to the street it is named after. Made from reclaimed 2x4’s, creating a ‘grand’ 2-3/4" thick slab. Milled and face joined to expose the edge grain and rough-sawn edges, these tops celebrate all of the characteristics of the lumbers life for the past 100 years.

Every Workshop furniture piece is handcrafted in Detroit using old growth structural pine salvaged from Detroit homes. Essentially, we are giving this old-growth lumber a third life.

The cafe table measures 30" x 30" x 30" high. The table is finished with a low-sheen polyurethane finish. The address identifying the street address of the building in Detroit from where the lumber was reclaimed is stamped on the table edge.

Each furniture piece at Workshop is made to order. Please allow approx. 6-7 weeks for fabrication and an additional 7 days for ground shipping.
