Workshop Detroit FAQ
Where are our countertops made?
All Workshop Detroit countertops are handcrafted at our fabrication shop in Detroit, Michigan by our small team of skilled craftsmen. Every table is built to order with close attention to detail, durability, and finish.
What materials do you use for your countertops?
We specialize in reclaimed, salvaged and sustainably sourced solid wood, including reclaimed pine, reclaimed oak, and select hardwoods depending on the design. Each countertop is paired with heavy-duty steel or solid wood bases designed for long-term stability.
Will my countertop look exactly like the photos?
No two countertops are exactly alike. Because we use real wood—often reclaimed—natural variations in grain, knots, and color are expected and celebrated. Your table will be similar in style and finish, but uniquely yours.
Can I customize the size or finish?
Yes. Most of our tabletops can be customized by size, wood species, finish color, and base style. If you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for, contact us and we’ll help design a table that fits your space perfectly.
How long does it take to receive my countertop?
Because our countertops are made to order, typical lead times range from 8–10 weeks depending on the design and current production schedule. We’ll provide an estimated timeline when your order is placed and keep you updated along the way.
Do you offer white glove delivery or in-home setup?
Yes. We offer in-home delivery and set up is available for many locations and includes delivery, placement, and packaging removal.
Are your dining tables durable enough for everyday use?
Absolutely. Our countertops are built for daily life. We use commercial-grade finishes that protect against spills, heat, and normal wear.
How do I care for and clean my countertop?
Routine care is simple. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners. No Bleach. Mild soap only.
What if my countertop arrives damaged?
We stand behind our work. If your countertop arrives with shipping damage, contact us immediately and we’ll make it right—whether that means repair, replacement, or another solution.
