Meet the Ellis Dining Table in a natural finish — a timeless, mid-century–inspired centerpiece designed to bring warmth, character, and craftsmanship into your dining room or kitchen.
Handcrafted in our Detroit fabrication shop on St. Antoine Street, each Ellis table is built from solid reclaimed structural pine — including vintage 2x4s, 2x6s, and 2x8s salvaged from carefully deconstructed houses and commercial buildings in Detroit. This dense, old-growth lumber offers exceptional durability, making the Ellis Dining Table a long-lasting, heirloom-quality piece made for everyday life.
The solid wood tabletop features gently rounded corners and a smooth, hand-finished surface that highlights the rich history of the wood. Expect authentic knots, saw marks, nail holes, and natural grain variation — the kind of character only genuine reclaimed wood furniture can offer. No two tables are ever the same, giving your home a truly one-of-a-kind dining table.
Supporting the top are substantial 4-inch-diameter solid wood legs, designed to make a bold visual statement while delivering serious stability. Adjustable feet ensure the table sits level on any floor, making it as practical as it is beautiful.
Every Ellis Dining Table includes our signature Workshop Legacy Stamp — a hand-applied mark on the table’s edge that lists the original Detroit street address where the lumber was reclaimed. It’s a small detail with big meaning, connecting your table to the city’s architectural past.
Blending mid-century modern style, rustic warmth, and industrial Detroit heritage, the Ellis Dining Table works beautifully in modern, farmhouse, loft, and eclectic interiors alike.
More than just a dining table, the Ellis is where life happens — weeknight dinners, holiday gatherings, game nights, and long conversations with friends. Built with care, history, and heart, it’s a statement piece designed to be used, loved, and passed down for generations.

Workshop Detroit FAQ
Where are our dining tables made?
All Workshop Detroit dining tables are handcrafted at our fabrication shop in Detroit, Michigan by our small team of skilled craftsmen. Every table is built to order with close attention to detail, durability, and finish.
What materials do you use for your dining tables?
We specialize in reclaimed, salvaged and sustainably sourced solid wood, including reclaimed pine, reclaimed oak, and select hardwoods depending on the design. Each tabletop is paired with heavy-duty steel or solid wood bases designed for long-term stability.
Will my table look exactly like the photos?
No two tables are exactly alike. Because we use real wood—often reclaimed—natural variations in grain, knots, and color are expected and celebrated. Your table will be similar in style and finish, but uniquely yours.
Can I customize the size or finish?
Yes. Most of our dining tables can be customized by size, wood species, finish color, and base style. If you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for, contact us and we’ll help design a table that fits your space perfectly.
How long does it take to receive my table?
Because our tables are made to order, typical lead times range from 8–10 weeks depending on the design and current production schedule. We’ll provide an estimated timeline when your order is placed and keep you updated along the way.
Do you offer white glove delivery or in-home setup?
Yes. We offer in-home delivery and set up is available for many locations and includes delivery, placement, and packaging removal.
Are your dining tables durable enough for everyday use?
Absolutely. Our tables are built for daily life—family meals, dinner parties, work-from-home use, and everything in between. We use commercial-grade finishes that protect against spills, heat, and normal wear. Our tables are built to last for generations.
How do I care for and clean my dining table?
Routine care is simple. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners. No Bleach. Mild soap only. Coasters and placemats are recommended for added protection, as with any natural wood surface.
What if my table arrives damaged?
We stand behind our work. If your table arrives with shipping damage, contact us immediately and we’ll make it right—whether that means repair, replacement, or another solution.
